Update January 2010 Since Shadow's arrival on October 12, 2008. she has been through a lot of changes.  Shadow has been diagnosed with Cushing's disease (a malfunction or possible tumor of the pituitary gland) , IR ( insulin resistance - cannot process glucose), hypothyroid (thyroid glad processes too slowly), and possible heaves (a form of COPD).  Thankfully her sinus infection has cleared up.  AT 24 years old upon arrival, with proper medications, we are looking forward to many years with this girl.

October 12, 2008.  We first met shadow as she jumped out of the trailer at Misfit Acres.  She has the most unique "shading" around her eyes.  This 20-ish, 42" pony has extreme thyroid problems which do flare up from time to time even though she is on medication.  She may need to be clipped this spring to help with her extra long hair.  Shadow likes to go see what all the other horses have in their dishes at meal times.  She is pretty quiet pony, but as we get to know her, she is beginning to tell us things.
