Comments: I found out about your sanctuary from the Terracycle webpage and saw that your organization was so deserving! Congratulations! I too collect for the animals, specifically for a local animal shelter. I am sending you a donation for all the hard work you do - digging thru "trash" for those magnificent creatures!

Comments: I haven't lived in this area long and just read a short article about your sanctuary in the Faribault County Registrar. I was so enthralled by the idea that I have spent my morning looking at your website and reading more about you and your horses. I have always had a love for horses but it is not currently an option to have one of my own. I hope to have the opportunity to visit misfit acres. I think it is so wonderful what you are doing and plan to watch the website and help you out whenever possible.

Comments: Jody (and the Misfit Acres family)... meeting you at the City Center Sale in Mankato on the 2nd was the highlight of the day! What you all do touched both my and my mom (Vi's) heart! We are so blessed to have such great people who care and can give animals a forever home like you do! Can't wait to come out and meet your big "fur" babies (horses)sometime and for the GREAT day of fun and friendship planned on October 2nd. You all are in our hearts and prayers.

Comments: I was at the Benefit for Misfits Acres today and read alot about you. I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for caring about these animals. Starting a Horse Rescue/Sanctuary is by far my biggest life goal. Just working with them is a goal of mine. Knowing that there are generous people out there like yourselves makes me feel so at home and happy. Seeing that some of these animals can be saved from slaughter or saved from abuse and lead happier lives is the most thrilling thing i could ever ask for. They all have their own personality and they all deserve a great life, and you give it to them. Thank you so much.
Comments: Goldilocks has been fostering with us since Jody and I rescued her in February. She was VERY shy and not used to being handled, but she has come a long way. Her best friend is Merrilegs, a pony I rescued 5 years ago-they are the dynamic duo and know it! They had gorgeous summer coats-Goldilocks is a palomino-but now they looks like balls of fur with legs-they started growing their winter coats in August even though our first snow arrived last night, 11/12/10! They makes me laugh every day-nothing gets by them and they are into everything. Goldi has learned from Merri, who is the original naughty (and very smart) pony. Merri has been outsmarting me for years-about now I think the score is Merrilegs 999 / Sandy 1... Both ponies have founder issues and it's a challenge to keep them away from grass-they find every wayward piece of green and eat it with gusto. Although she does not like to be handled, Goldie is surprisingly good for the farrier-we don't know quite why but we are grateful. In September they got a BIG (16 hands) brother, Hero, who came from MidAtlantic Horse Rescue in Md. Hero was abused and severly starved when he arrived at MAHR in March of 2010-they were not sure he would survive. He is now absolutely gorgeous and definitely the "boss" of the ponies-yeah Hero! He is transitioning from being a racehorse (he ran 11 races) to being a pleasure horse and he's doing quite well. The ponies try to take his hay which was a worry for me(they are FAT)-but he makes sure that they keep their distance and it works out well for everyone. They do look funny together-two tiny ones and a giant! Life is good here at Finally Farm and we love having Goldi here-thanks Jody and Bruce....
